“It was very obvious that he never wanted him but the club forced him to, now he has become a very big flop. Erik ten Hag was right afterall”- Gary Neville singles out the Man Utd player Erik ten Hag was forced into signing

Gary Neville has disclosed that Manchester United’s signing of Sofyan Amrabat was influenced by circumstances, with the club originally intending to rely on young talent like Kobbie Mainoo. Despite arriving on loan for £8.5 million with an option to buy for £21.4 million, Amrabat’s presence was necessitated by Mainoo’s injury, which left a gap in midfield.

However, Mainoo, an 18-year-old prodigy, quickly made an impact with standout performances, including crucial goals against Newport and Wolves. Neville praised Mainoo’s abilities, emphasizing that the club had faith in him from the beginning.

Rasmus Hojlund, another newcomer to Manchester United, echoed the sentiment, lauding Mainoo as a generational talent with composure beyond his years.
