“It seems like one particular Man in that one particular man doesn’t want the young star in that club because of one reason and other top clubs like Madrid who sees him as the next Modric are in line to sign him”-Fabrizio Romano explains what he has heard about Kobbie Mainoo’s Manchester United contract as Erik ten Hag and the fans are not happy with it.

Initial discussions have commenced at Manchester United regarding a potential contract extension for Kobbie Mainoo, reports Fabrizio Romano. The young talent, who emerged victorious in the 2022 FA Youth Cup, has seamlessly transitioned to the first team this season, amassing 13 appearances despite a setback due to injury sidelining him for the initial three months of the campaign.

Following in the footsteps of Alejandro Garnacho’s contract renewal last year, the club aims to secure Mainoo’s services with an extended deal, accompanied by an upgraded salary reflecting his growing significance within the team.

Romano suggests that while there’s no immediate urgency, Manchester United is keen on finalizing the extension within the year 2024, envisioning Mainoo as a pivotal figure both presently and in the club’s future endeavors. Early discussions have reportedly transpired, with positive indications hinting at a favorable agreement.

Mainoo, who inked his maiden professional contract in 2022 at the age of 17, followed by a long-term commitment in February of the subsequent year, is now poised for further extension. The club aims to fortify his ties and remuneration to deter potential suitors, given his pivotal role in the squad, exemplified by crucial goals like his recent match-winner against Wolves.
