“This is the first time I have been decieved by a player as a Manager. I knew something was wrong when u suddenly became ill. I didn’t only partied, he did something that the club banished years ago”-Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag gives brutal response for Marcus Rashford absence against Newport as he seems not happy with the England International.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has provided clarification regarding Marcus Rashford’s absence from the squad for their FA Cup match against Newport County. According to ten Hag, Rashford is currently unwell and has remained at Carrington instead of accompanying the team to Wales. This explanation comes amidst speculation arising from Rashford’s presence in a nightclub in Northern Ireland earlier in the week, raising questions about potential breaches of the club’s disciplinary rules.

Regarding Rashford’s situation, ten Hag stated to BBC Sport, “Marcus Rashford’s absence is an internal matter, and I will handle it.” This incident adds to the controversies surrounding ten Hag’s tenure at Old Trafford, with previous instances of high-profile players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho also facing disciplinary issues.

Ronaldo departed from the club in January 2023 following a televised interview with Piers Morgan, while Sancho is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund amid reported disagreements with ten Hag regarding his performance in training sessions.

Despite Rashford’s recent struggles to replicate his previous season’s form, where he emerged as United’s top scorer, ten Hag expressed confidence in the forward’s abilities. He acknowledged Rashford’s current form but remained optimistic about his potential to bounce back, emphasizing the team’s collective improvement as crucial for Rashford to rediscover his scoring touch.

“In this season, he will regain his form and scoring prowess. He’s fully committed to the team, and I have faith in his abilities,” ten Hag affirmed, expressing his belief in Rashford’s eventual resurgence.
